Gasgoo Munich-BYD’s Thailand factory rolled its 100,000th new-energy vehicle off the line on Sept. 21, marking the milestone with a delivery event attended by the local team, new owners, media, and guests. The landmark vehicle was a BYD ATTO 3 — the brand’s first model introduced in Thailand, spanning its journey from entering the market to manufacturing cars locally.

On the localization front, Thai nationals make up 95% of the plant’s workforce, and roughly half of its procurement is sourced locally. Five models have already earned "Made in Thailand" certification. As output scales up, BYD is deepening its ties to Thailand’s new-energy vehicle ecosystem — pushing forward on manufacturing, talent development, and supply chain integration.
During the event, media and customers toured the final assembly, welding, stamping, and battery shops to observe the new-energy vehicle manufacturing process firsthand. The visit also sparked discussions on the ownership experience, local production, and future roadmaps.
From launching its first model to rolling out the 100,000th locally built vehicle, BYD’s Thai expansion has entered a new phase. Going forward, the company plans to deepen its local roots, ramp up domestic production, and grow alongside Thailand’s broader new-energy vehicle industry.
