Shanghai. August 29 (Gasgoo.com) - Caterpillar will make small and mid diesel engines in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, the company announced yesterday.
Caterpillar and Industrial Park has signed a non-binding letter of intent for this projected investment.
The first batch of engines to be produced in Wuxi includes Perkins 400 series 3 cylinder and 4 cylinder diesel engines.
"The new diesel engine plant will further enrich our products line and meet high volume of orders for our 400 series engines," said Hans Haefeli, vice president of Caterpillar. Meanwhile, Caterpillar also plans to relocate its engine R&D center to Wuxi City.
