The Weiling R08 PRO is built on four core pillars: high performance, high safety, high intelligence, and striking design.
Under the hood, it features a "golden powertrain" combo: a 2.3T diesel engine mated to a ZF 8AT transmission. Maximum torque hits 420 Nm at just 1,500 rpm, emphasizing strong low-end power.
Off-road, the R08 PRO comes standard with a BorgWarner part-time four-wheel-drive system and nine terrain modes, including ECO, Sport, Snow, and Sand. Front and rear differential locks are included, while a 34° approach angle, a maximum 29° departure angle, a maximum 25° breakover angle, and 230 mm of ground clearance boost its ability to tackle rough terrain. It also features crawl mode and a tank turn.
The Weiling R08 PRO also breaks the pickup mold of prioritizing utility over tech. It offers a 360° panoramic camera and transparent chassis to eliminate blind spots, along with L2-level driver assistance for added safety. Inside, a 15.6-inch screen powered by an 8155 chip ensures smooth operation and supports Apple CarPlay and Huawei HiCar.

Founded in 2009, Weiling fielded a team for the Dakar Rally the following year—becoming the first Chinese domestic automaker to take on the event, often dubbed the "game for the brave."
Chery revived the brand in 2025 as a global intelligent pickup ecosystem. The R08 PRO debut represents a modern evolution of that Dakar heritage, expanding the brand's lineup and underscoring Chery's push into the global pickup market.
Going forward, Chery Weiling plans to launch more models across various powertrains and scenarios, aiming to drive the Chinese pickup industry toward a more high-end, intelligent, and global future.
