Shanghai, January 13 (Gasgoo.com) Chinese motorcycle maker Zongshen Power Machinery has denied media reports that U.S. legendary investor Warren Buffett had shown interest in the company, Reuters said.

Zongshen had no contact with Buffett and had not held any discussions related to his possible investment in the company, the motorcycle maker said in a statement to the Shenzhen stock exchange late on Monday.

"The company also guarantees that in the next six months, it will not have any cooperation with Buffett on investment in new energy motorcycles," the statement said. But Zongshen did not deny a possible meeting between its chairman and Buffett.

Zongshen Chairman Zuo Zongshen is expected to visit the United States later this month, sparking rumors that his visit will include discussions with Warren Buffett, and pushing company's shares climb by 10% on Monday.

Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway has bought a 10% stake in China's electric car and battery maker BYD Co, sending the stock up over seven-fold last year. BYD is set to sell its electric e6 model in the U.S. later this year.
