Gasgoo.com (Shanghai October 28) - A recent survey into misuse of government vehicles has agreed that there are 179,500 vehicles that violate official rules, the Beijing News reported today. Those vehicles which have been discovered will be taxed, returned, auctioned off or otherwise dealt with as deemed necessary, the Beijing committee in charge of the survey said.
Representatives from the committee were keen to emphasize that any officials charged with using government vehicles for private use would be dealt with as part of the investigation. All departments and cadres would do their utmost to tighten up and improve standards, introducing organizational managements to any units that did not have them before. Committee Leader Shang Xiaoting stressed that all units must adhere to the Central Committee's guidelines and that any infringements would not be tolerated.
