Shanghai, July 28 (Gasgoo.com) Dongfeng Citroen, Dongfeng Motor's joint venture with PSA Peugeot-Citroen, announced the price of its C-Quatre hatchback on July 28. The China-made Citroen C-Quatre will carry a dealer price tag of 108,000 yuan ($15,840) to 168,000 yuan depending on different specifications.
The C-Quatre hatchback will be exhibited at the Shanghai auto show in mid-August and will officially go on sale on September 2. Two engine options including a 1.6L engine and a 2.0L engine are available. The 2.0L 16V engine, also used in the C-Triomphe, adopts the continuously variable valve timing system (VVT) and can generate a power output of 108 kW and a peak torque of 200 Nm, which offers exceptionally pleasurable driving.
Citroen C-Quatre will compete in Chinese market directly with Peugeot 307 hatchback, Focus hatchback and Tidda. Since its launch in the European market in 2005, the Citroen C-Quatre has sold about 2 million units worldwide.
