Gasgoo.com (Shanghai April 29) - Better Place, an American venture company promoting the use of battery-powered electric vehicles, signed an agreement with the Guangzhou-based China Southern Power Grid Company (CSPGC), the Guangzhou Daily reported today. The news comes as Guangzhou increases efforts to stimulate electric vehicle use.

As the number of charging stations increase, the strain on electric networks becomes more and more unbearable. Therefore, for electric vehicles to become more popular, it is necessary to install a comprehensive electric battery network. If batteries can be changed overnight, it would not only be convenient for the user, but also give electric grids more space to breathe.

According to the agreement, Better Place and the CSPGC will work together to establish an electric battery replacement network. If successful, the plan may spread past Guangzhou, as CSPGC operates in four other provinces.
