Gasgoo Munich- Hesai Technology (NASDAQ: HSAI; HKEX: 2525) unveiled the world's first 6D full-color, ultra-sensitive LiDAR chip — the Picasso SPAD-SoC — at its 2026 Tech Open Day on April 17.

The Hesai ETX series is getting a major upgrade powered by the Picasso SPAD-SoC. It promises up to 4,320 lines of full-color, 4K ultra-HD perception with a maximum range of 600 meters — capable of spotting a 15-by-25-centimeter wooden block from 150 meters away. Mass deliveries are slated for the second half of this year.

On the technical front, Hesai's fifth-generation in-house platform — the Picasso ultra-sensitive SPAD-SoC — supports 2,160-line LiDAR on a single chip. Its photon detection efficiency (PDE) exceeds 40%, hitting world-class benchmarks. The design also features photon isolation to curb false positives and negatives, while an intelligent waveform decoding engine filters out 99.9% of noise.

Hesai also outlined a strategic evolution from "spatial perception" to "spatial intelligence." The company gave a first look at Kosmo, a new AI hardware product for spatial intelligence, and introduced a new strategic focus on robotic power modules.
