Over 300m drivers registered in China

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai January 29) - According to statistics from the Ministry of Public Security’s Department of Traffic Safety, there were a total of 300 million motor vehicle drivers in China by the end of 2014, The Mirror reported today. 264 million of those people are automobile drivers, with 9.82 percent of those, or 29.67 million people, people with less than a year of driving experience.

Over the last five years the number of Chinese vehicles has increased by over 15 million units annually, while the number of registered drivers has increased by over 20 million people. A total of 21.88 million new drivers were registered last year, a new record for the country. There are 25 vehicles for every 100 households in China. That amount is 63 vehicles for Beijing and over 40 vehicles for Guangzhou and Chengdu.
