Car companies take caution in anticipation of slow 2011 sales

Shanghai January 13 (Gasgoo.com) With 2011 already upon us, there is an ever-increasing risk of automobile sales tapering off. Despite the boom season at the end of last year, seeing long lines of eager customers wanting to drive off with the hottest-selling vehicles, those within the industry are relatively more pragmatic in planning for the new year. Companies are more cautious than last year, with a few enterprises designation 2011 as an adjustment year. A majority of companies said that, compared to this past December, this season the automobile market may experience negative growth.

SAIC aims to take 20% of China's new energy vehicle market by 2015

Shanghai October 25 (Gasgoo.com) China's largest auto maker Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) has in recent years created a comprehensive layout of the new energy automotive industry chain, and is planning to increase its market share in the segment to 20% by 2015, its Chairman Hu Maoyuan said at the "Drive to 2030": World Expo and Sustainable Automotive Industry Development forum, co-hosted with General Motors on October 15, the Beijing News reported Monday.

Total automobiles sales in 2011 are predicted to drop 10%

Shanghai January 12 (Gasgoo.com) Research on the 2011 automobile market has shown some pessimistic results. During yesterday's "December 2010 automobile market information research forum," research institute China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) said that this year's domestic automobile sales may show negative growth of over 10%.
