Purchase restriction policies to continue into 2012

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai December 30) - Legislation aimed at limiting the number of vehicles purchased in Beijing looks set to continue into 2012, the Beijing News reported today, quoting Beijing National Development and Reform Commission Deputy Director and Media Spokesman Zhao Lei.

Beijing implemented a monthly lottery style system for registering new vehicles (pictured) in the beginning of the year.

Purchase restriction legislation in other fields, such as housing, will also continue into the new year. Mr. Zhao announced the news in a conference with 54 other media spokespeople from various government departments.
