The collaboration aims to deeply integrate Ulaanbaatar’s urban development needs with BYD Battery’s full industrial chain capabilities in the new energy sector. By focusing on key areas such as green transportation, new energy infrastructure, and smart energy storage, the partners intend to establish a benchmark for green city cooperation between China and Mongolia.
Under the terms of the memorandum, the parties have identified four core pillars of cooperation designed to precisely empower the city’s green transformation.
First, scaling up the adoption of electric vehicles to optimize urban mobility and cut carbon emissions. Second, deploying a network of fast-charging "green stations" to continuously improve supporting infrastructure for new energy vehicles. Third, implementing battery energy storage systems (BESS) to optimize the city’s energy mix while enhancing efficiency and grid stability. Fourth, launching the "Sky Shuttle" smart public transit project to upgrade the urban transportation system using BYD’s battery technology.
BYD stated that the agreement establishes a long-term, stable strategic partnership. Moving forward, BYD Battery will fully leverage its full industrial chain strengths in new energy vehicles, energy storage, and smart transportation. By combining these capabilities with Ulaanbaatar’s local resources and policy support, the company aims to deepen pragmatic cooperation in green and low-carbon fields, ensure projects deliver results, and help the capital build itself into a green, low-carbon, and smart modern city.
