Gasgoo Munich- ZF's electric drive division is gaining ground in China. The German supplier secured project nominations for its Coaxial eVD system. These came from two leading Chinese automakers. This marks a significant step toward scaling its e-drive technology. It targets the country's booming NEV market.

The system is built on ZF's SELECT e-drive platform. It features a compact architecture designed for high efficiency. This flexibility serves the diverse needs of next-generation NEV platforms. The 800V variant uses a highly integrated design. It delivers up to 300 kW of power and 5,000 Nm of peak torque. It supports voltage-boost charging and integrated charging distribution. It also features electronic limited-slip differentials (eLSD). This allows for flexible configuration across platforms.
The system uses a coaxial configuration and magnesium alloy housing. This cuts overall volume by 25% to aid lightweighting and packaging. Comprehensive efficiency exceeds 93.5%. This is achieved through intelligent variable gate-level driving and planetary gear sets. Innovative cooling and lubrication designs also contribute. Regarding noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH), noise drops by 3 to 5 decibels. Compared to conventional solutions, it is quieter. Load-optimized planetary gears ensure smoother operation. Furthermore, the system supports an expandable eLSD module. This enhances handling and light off-road capabilities.
ZF has pushed a localization strategy in recent years. It leverages local R&D, production, and supply chains. This keeps pace with China's rapidly evolving NEV sector. Looking ahead, the company plans to deepen ties with partners. It will collaborate across the Chinese automotive supply chain. ZF will continue to upgrade its new-energy e-drive technologies.
