Gasgoo.com (Shanghai June 19) - Aston Martin has issued a recall for 147 imported vehicles in China, the Beijing Times reported today, citing an announcement made by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. The recall, which is beginning today, will target 2012 model year to 2014 model year Aston Martins manufactured between mid-May 2012 and early April of this year.

The recall has been issued due to the potential use of substandard materials in the gas pedal levers. The flaw may potentially endanger the safety of the car's occupants.

Aston Martin has already contacted owners of affected vehicles to schedule appointment times for maintenance. The manufacturer will replace the auto parts used in the pedals. Aston Martin will also provide free maintenance of vehicles not targeted by the recall if their owners contact the manufacturer.
