Gasgoo Munich- Officials from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Transport, and the Beijing municipal government gathered in Beijing on September 28 for a press briefing on the upcoming 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicle Conference. They outlined preparations for the event and fielded questions from the media.
Jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Transport, and the Beijing Municipal People's Government, the conference is scheduled for October 21 to 23 at Beijing Etrong International Exhibition & Convention Center. Under the theme "Gathering Wisdom and Energy, Connecting the Infinite — Steadily Advancing into a New Era of Autonomous Driving," the event aims to establish a premier platform for policy alignment, technical co-creation, industrial integration, and global cooperation.
First, the agenda focuses on broader industry trends. It features three main sessions—an opening ceremony, a plenary assembly, and a closing ceremony—alongside three special events: a roundtable on international cooperation in the automotive sector, a Sino-German intelligent connected vehicle forum, and a forum on coordinated industrial development across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. These events are designed to deepen cross-border collaboration, cross-regional linkages, and local synergy.
Second, the conference zeroes in on critical core components. Six thematic forums will cover policy and regulations, standards, key technologies, application ecosystems, connected collaboration, and digital and intelligent transformation. Scheduling will be flexible—ranging from half-day to full-day sessions—based on the depth of topics, industry interest, and attendee needs, ensuring ample opportunity for networking and exchange.
Third, attention turns to frontier sub-sectors. Six concurrent side meetings will address in-vehicle communication technology, automotive brand globalization, the automotive chip ecosystem, autonomous driving testing and verification, AI industry empowerment, and multi-scenario autonomous driving applications, rounding out the event's exchange framework.
Fourth, the event emphasizes an immersive experience ecosystem. A suite of supporting activities—including the China International New Energy and Intelligent Connected Vehicle Exhibition, digital factory tours, L3 autonomous driving test rides, a "Dual Smart" city carnival (integrating smart cities and smart vehicles), science education activities for primary and secondary schools, and an automotive cultural market—will create a diverse, immersive environment for industry engagement.
Since its inception in 2018, the World Intelligent Connected Vehicle Conference has been successfully held for eight consecutive editions, establishing itself as a vital platform for driving technological innovation, facilitating international exchange, and building consensus within the global automotive industry. The 2026 edition will continue to serve as a bridge for policy alignment, a center of excellence for technical sharing, a nexus for industrial matchmaking, and a stage for global cooperation.
