AQSIQ: Recalled 2.69 Million Vehicles in First Three Quarter, Increases 99%

31 Oct afternoon, AQSIQ holed routing media conference. Xitong CHEN, AQSIQ representative and news office director, published vehicle recall situation of the third quarter of 2013, and result of domestic gas stove quality sampling.

From Jan to Sept 2013, China has implemented vehicle recall 97 times, concerns with 2.69 million. Compared with last year, the figures have increased 79.6% and 99% respectively. Among them, recalled because of AQSIQ deficiency selective examination takes 42.5% to 1.14 million.

Joint ventures recall 24 times, which concerns with 1.94 million vehicles, and takes 72.1% of the total recalled vehicles number. Chinese brands recall 23 times, and concerns with 349 thousand vehicles which takes 13% of the total recalled numbers. Exported brands recall 50 times, concerns with 403 thousand vehicles, which take 14.9%.

Counted by recalled reasons, brake and wheel recall 24 times, which is the most one. It concerns with 687 thousand vehicles, which takes around 25% of their totally recalled number. And then engine problem causes 16 recall, concerns with 620 thousand vehicles, which takes 23% of the totally recall number and is ranked number 2. The third reason is steering / suspension problems. It recalls 14 times and concerns with 592 thousand vehicles, takes 22% of the total number. The others include: Powertrain defects (14 times, 420 000 vehicles, 16%), electrical and electronic defects (22 times, 239,000 vehicles, 9%); body parts defects (7 times, 135,000 vehicles, 5%).

AQSIQ receives 13,313 auto deficiency complains, which has increased 5523 times and 70.9% over the figures of last year.
