Beijing Auto's C30 MPV has been caught out unmasked for the first time and follows on from a series of pictures that showed it highly camoflauged. Beijing Auto has possibly reached out to JV partner Mercedes to help them design the C30, or perhaps they have just been inspired by the B-Class and thought to make their own version.
Power for the C30 is being derived from Beijing Auto’s partner, Hyundai, in the form of the G4EC petrol engine, which is a 1.5L block producing 78kw of power. From the pictures it seems that a 5 speed manual box is likely to be found in the final production model, although a 4 speed auto might launch later. Pricing is expected to be 50,000rmb to 80,000rmb when launched.
The C30′s interior seems to be quite well designed and put together, although the interior also seems to heavily inspired by the Mercedes B-Class.
The C30 is the first miniture MPV from a Chinese automaker (excluding the JAC He Rui, which is bigger) and will give Beijing Auto a niche segment that might work in their favor.
