Therefore, Beijing City will set up 435,000 charging posts to meet the above demands. Yesterday, Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission announced the news by releasing Special Plan for Electric Vehicles Charging Infrastructure in Beijing Municipality (2016-2020).
Basically “One Post for One Private Electric Vehicle”
According to relevant plan, the market size of Beijing electric vehicles will reach 600,000 units by 2020, including private electric buses of 450,000 units and 150,000 units’ vehicles for public services. In private-use area, “one post for one vehicle” will be realized in 2020. For public-use vehicles, all taxies will be updated to electric vehicles in 6 years with an average of 10,000 units per year. Besides, demands for buses, renting vehicles and vehicles for official, logistics use are 15,000 units, 40,000 units and 40,000 units respectively.
Based on the above demands, Beijing will set up about 435,000 charging posts from 2016 to 2020, forming a charging net with a service radius of less than 5 kilometers around the region.
Charging Radius less than 0.9 kilometers in Centers Areas
By 2020, central areas, Tongzhou New Town, Yi Zhuang, Yanqing Winter Olympics Area and other key areas will have a charging radius less than 0.9 kilometers, forming a demonstration area for national electrical vehicles and charging post construction.
In the future five years, Beijing will also put great efforts in constructing “Yanqing Winter Olymplics Demonstration Area” and “Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Inter-City Fast Charging Demonstration Area”, promoting the Beijing New Airport Charging Infrastructure.
