Gasgoo.com (Shanghai September 15, 2016)-Reportedly, government in Beijing may reduce the number of motor vehicles to not more than 6 million units by the end of 2017, abating air pollution caused by emission.

By the end of 2015, there had been more than 560 units of motor vehicle, emissions of which have proved the primary source of PM2.5.

Beijing may encourage the development of bus, implement stricter standard of fuel, and reduce the number of motor vehicles, especially those with large displacement. There may be 400,000 units of old motor vehicles to be phased out from 2016 to 2017.

Moreover, there may be more strategies to be implemented, aiming to improve air quality.
