Beijing to tighten emission limits

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai May 16) - Beijing has introduced a new set of emission policies to be instated next year, in a bid to relieve the city of it's over 40,000 gas-powered automobiles, ccidnet.com reported today. The project is a part of the city Twelfth Five-Year Guideline goals, a five-year national economic directive which started this year.

The policies, similar in principle to the Euro 5 emission standards unveiled two years ago, will lower tolerable oxycarbon and hydrocarbon limits. Government agencies have yet to comment as to whether or not earlier standards will be phased out.
