Gasgoo Munich-BYD released its 2025 Sustainability Report on March 27, offering a comprehensive look at its strategic planning and practical achievements in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) areas. The report outlines the company's "DREAMS" sustainability philosophy, built on six pillars: green and low-carbon operations, innovation and change, equal opportunity, collaboration, integrity, and shared value. Crucially, BYD has set a core target to achieve carbon neutrality across its entire value chain by 2045.

In 2025, BYD garnered multiple domestic and international ESG accolades, including a spot on the Forbes China 50 list and recognition as a best practice case for sustainable development among listed companies.
On the green transition front, BYD sold 4.6 million new energy vehicles (NEVs) in 2025, retaining its title as the global sales champion. Its energy storage systems saw cumulative shipments surpass 135 GWh, with annual volume ranking first worldwide. These NEVs helped cut carbon emissions by 46.6 million tons during production and use compared to traditional fuel vehicles — equivalent to planting 776.6 million trees. Additionally, BYD utilized 7.29 billion kWh of clean electricity, landing it on the China Top 100 Green Power Consumers list and securing the top spot among domestic automakers. Notably, three of its industrial parks were named among the first batch of national zero-carbon parks.
In terms of social responsibility, BYD contributed 53.3 billion yuan in domestic taxes in 2025, alongside donation expenditures totaling 157 million yuan. The company also launched a 3 billion yuan education charity fund focused on university scholarships and public education on NEV technology, reaching donation agreements with 127 universities nationwide.
Meanwhile, BYD is doubling down on technical research. In 2025, R&D investment reached 63.4 billion yuan, accounting for 7.89% of operating revenue. The company now boasts 120,000 R&D personnel and has filed 71,094 patent applications globally.
Looking ahead, BYD plans to deepen its DREAMS philosophy, embedding sustainability across every stage of its business operations. The company aims to work with global partners to turn its vision of "cooling the Earth by 1°C" into reality.
