Cadillac unveils Urban Luxury Concept at LA Auto Show

Cadillac has unveiled their Urban Luxury Concept vehicle, a compact vehicle designed to bring the brand's luxury to city driving.

The vehicle is designed to fit into tight, confined parking areas around urban apartments and office buildings while keeping the iconic Cadillac design features. It is comparable in size to popular city cars used in Paris, Shanghai and London.

The Cadillac concept was conceived and designed in Los Angeles where parking space is also at a premium. That's why it is being shown off at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The car seats four, with easy access to all of the seats through scissor-type doors that extend outward before rotating forward. The interior also features touch screens and projected readouts to take the place of the traditional gauges and audio and climate control systems.

Don Butler, Cadillac's Vice President for Marketing says, "While small in size, this concept is an exploration of what Cadillac could be in the future, as the brand continues to focus on redefining industry standards for advanced vehicle design and integrated technology."

The concept is designed around a concept hybrid propulsion system that includes a 1.0L three-cylinder engine that will get 56 mpg in the city and 65 mpg on the highway.
