Gasgoo.com (Shanghai April 25) - General Motors CEO Dan Akerson announced earlier this week that the manufacturer will increase the amount of Cadillacs manufactured in China, the Beijing Times reported today. According to Mr. Akerson, starting this year until 2016, a new Cadillac will be brought over to the country annually. Mr. Akerson added that domestic production of the XTS full-size will begin in the latter half of this year.

The SLS (pictured below) is the only Cadillac manufactured in China. In order to produce more Cadillacs in the future, Shanghai GM is preparing to expand the production capability of its factory in Shanghai. Mr. Akerson also pointed out the possibility of the manufacturer building a production site in the country exclusively for the manufacture of Cadillac vehicles.
