As the core commercial vehicle for Geely Holding Group's robotaxi ambitions, Cao Cao has mapped out a three-stage strategy. Phase one focused on technical verification and small-scale pilot operations. The current phase aims to transition from safety-operator-led models to driverless operations, exploring a hybrid mix of manned and unmanned driving. Looking ahead, the company plans to launch fully customized robotaxis globally for full-scale commercial deployment.

The rollout of these 100 vehicles in Hangzhou will further verify the reliability of autonomous services while optimizing fulfillment processes and the passenger experience. Simultaneously, the company activated the world's first "Green Smart Mobility Island." This facility integrates automated battery swapping, cleaning, interior maintenance, smart dispatch, and automated billing — all designed to keep the fleet running efficiently and boost capacity for large-scale autonomous operations.

Moving forward, Cao Cao plans to extend daily service hours and expand its coverage area. It will also roll out the Cao Cao Smart RAS remote safety platform and a comprehensive intelligent asset management system. By integrating operational strengths with smart cockpit and autonomous driving technologies, the company aims to build a closed-loop driverless ecosystem — laying the groundwork for mass adoption.

While deepening its domestic footprint, Cao Cao is also pushing into global markets. The company has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and plans to open a local office this year to partner with regional institutions on autonomous driving and green mobility pilots.

Separately, Cao Cao is working with Geely and ecosystem partners to develop a fully customized robotaxi equipped with proprietary autonomous driving components and applications. The new model is set to debut this year. By 2030, the company plans to deploy 100,000 of these custom vehicles. The "Green Smart Mobility Island" infrastructure will expand nationwide alongside the business, providing full-scenario automated operational support and helping build an integrated "space-air-ground" mobility ecosystem with partners.
