Car and City: Wuling Hongguang MINIEV logs 9.5% MoM growth in Oct. registrations

In Oct. 2022, the registrations of the Wuling Hongguang MINIEV, a mini all-electric car model of SAIC-GM-Wuling ("SGMW"), stood at 40,402 units, sliding 15.49% year on year, while growing 9.5% month on month, according to the data compiled by Gasgoo Auto Research Institute (GARI).

Regarding the Oct. 2022 registration volume, the Hongguang MINIEV was credited the champion among all China-made new energy vehicle (NEV) models registered on the Chinese mainland, outnumbering the runner-up, the BYD Song PLUS DM-i, by 12,436 units.

For the first ten months of 2022, there were a total of 345,285 Hongguang MINIEVs registered across the Chinese mainland, representing a 12.81% year-on-year growth.

By the end of Oct. 2022, the cumulative registrations of the Hongguang MINIEV added up to 851,356 units.

Regarding regional distribution in Oct., Liuzhou, one of the model's production bases, registered the most Hongguang MINIEVs. Both Wuhan and Langfang had over 800 units of the hottest-selling NEV model registered last month.

On the list of the top 10 cities by Hongguang MINIEV registrations in Oct., three spots were held by provincial capitals, namely, Wuhan, Shijiazhuang, and Hangzhou.

For the first ten months of this year, Liuzhou and Wuhan still topped other cities by the cumulative registrations of the Hongguang MINIEV. None of the four major metropolises, namely, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, were among the top 10 cities by year-to-date registrations of the model.
