Gasgoo Munich-Data from Qichacha reveals a steady climb in the number of humanoid robot companies over the past decade. By the end of 2025, China had 1,021 active firms in the sector. As of May 13, 2026, that figure stands at 1,025.
Geographically, nearly half of these companies are clustered in East China, which accounts for 47.8% of the total. South China follows with a 22.9% share. In contrast, the Northwest and Northeast regions host far fewer players, representing just 3.0% and 2.4%, respectively.
To date, the country holds 2,661 patents related to humanoid robotics.

In 2024, patent applications in this field surged 369.7% to 620 — the steepest growth rate in five years. The momentum continued into 2025, with China adding 1,255 new patents, a 102.4% jump that marked a five-year high.
