Gasgoo.com (Shanghai October 8th, 2016)More and more Chinese enterprises realize that, self-driving cars concern multi-area technologies including robots, artificial intelligence, sensors and connected cars, and may bring great opportunities for China Made and Chinese Intelligence.

Several years ago, many Chinese auto companies believe that self-driving technologies need to wait dozen years to enter into a mass-application period. However, the fast-growth of above related technologies in recent years forces Chinese auto companies to prepare for relevant projects and conduct cooperation with technological companies. Baidu, Tencent, LETV and Alibaba have begun to start driverless car projects.

Recently, Dongfeng Renault, Renault Group and Wuhan Caidian Ecological Development Group announced to build an open automatic driving demonstration zone in Wuhan, the first domestic automatic driving demonstration zone built in ecological demonstration city and the first open automatic driving demonstration zone. In the zone, visitors can experience automatic driving technology in person.

Chana Auto said it has mastered several dozen intelligent technologies, planning to achieve automatic driving before 2025. FAW Hongqi also showed taxi-booking, parallel parking and other automatic driving movements recently. Its H7 model, equipping with above functions, plans to be launched into market in 2018.

Baidu has built a self-driving business department, conducting self-driving test in Beijing during December of last year. The self-driving cars are planed to meet mass-production after five years.

Wang Jing, CEO of Baidu Self-driving Business Department, said that, the auto industry is meeting an exciting reform, in which alternative energies, sharing economy, and especially intelligent technologies represented by self-driving technologies, will all take part and push it forward.

Currently, the global auto industry is transforming toward digitization and new energy sources. Chinese companies are also actively taking part in global cooperation to demonstrate their competitive strengths. Relevant regulation systems have been actively built in China, along with related infrastructure.
