Jinlan Nanotechnology has specialized in the automotive aftermarket for years, offering products such as window films, paint protection films, vehicle wraps, and protective materials for new energy vehicles. The firm boasts in-house R&D capabilities for Nanotechnology-ceramic films and masters key technologies like Nanotechnology-dispersion and precision coating—making it one of the few domestic players with a complete technological framework. Beyond technology, Jinlan Nanotechnology has built a multi-tiered distribution network spanning automakers, dealership groups, service chains, and retail outlets, securing a strong foothold in both branding and channels within the aftermarket.
The acquisition is driven largely by Jinlan Nanotechnology's established brand equity and distribution channels. While Cybrid Technologies has long focused on polymer material R&D with a mature presence in photovoltaics, lithium batteries, and consumer electronics, its direct access to the automotive consumer market has been limited. By integrating the two businesses, Cybrid Technologies aims to marry its material science expertise with Jinlan Nanotechnology's market access, achieving end-to-end coverage from R&D to retail sales.
On the technical front, automotive functional films rely heavily on polymer processes such as UV curing, nanotechnology-dispersion, and precision coating. Jinlan Nanotechnology holds numerous core patents and its products have earned certification from the International Window Film Association (IWFA), suggesting strong synergy with Cybrid Technologies' material portfolio. Notably, Jinlan Nanotechnology serves as a standing director member of the IWFA, ranking alongside global giants like 3M and Eastman.
Following the deal, Cybrid Technologies plans to drive deep integration across technology, branding, and distribution to accelerate the rollout of high-value automotive films. This expansion not only diversifies Cybrid Technologies' business structure but also unlocks new growth potential in polymer functional materials—specifically in segments with stronger consumer appeal and brand value.
Looking ahead, Cybrid Technologies intends to further consolidate resources and bolster its capability to deliver comprehensive solutions for both the automotive OEM and aftermarket sectors, thereby sharpening its competitive edge in the polymer functional materials industry.
