Gasgoo Munich-On October 18, BYD announced that cumulative sales of its personalized brand, FANGCHENGBAO, have topped 600,000 units. Since its debut in June 2023, the marque took roughly 35 months to reach this volume — with the sprint from 500,000 to 600,000 units taking just two months.
FANGCHENGBAO targets the hardcore off-road and sport sedan segments. The BAO 5 debuted in 2023 as its first model, followed by the BAO 8, BAO 3, and TAI 7. That lineup builds out a mid-to-large SUV matrix while branching into new product families like the TAI and FANGCHENG series.

In September 2026, FANGCHENGBAO officially entered the sedan market by simultaneously launching two models: the FANGCHENG S and the FANGCHENG S GT. Priced from 189,900 to 229,900 CNY and 219,900 to 239,900 CNY, respectively, the pair marks the brand's push beyond SUVs.
Xiong Tianbo, general manager of FANGCHENGBAO Auto, has said the brand sticks to a "fully loaded from the start" philosophy for core hardware. The FANGCHENG S series is the first to feature BYD's DiSus-M suspension system, putting it up against the Xiaomi SU7 and Tesla Model 3.
FANGCHENGBAO’s rapid ascent leans heavily on BYD’s deep reserves in core EV powertrain technology, supply chain integration, and manufacturing. The brand’s competitive edge is sharpened by proprietary platforms like the DMO super-hybrid off-road architecture and the DiSus chassis system.
A broader lineup and the push into sedans should help FANGCHENGBAO capture more of the niche market. Yet competition in hardcore off-road and sport sedans is only intensifying. With brands like TANK and YANGWANG ramping up their own offerings, FANGCHENGBAO will need to keep its product innovation sharp to stay ahead.
