Gasgoo.com (Shanghai August 11) - Since the beginning of the year to the end of July, Ford China sold 306,830 vehicles in the country, Gasgoo.com (Chinese) reported today. The figure represents a 13 percent increase in Chinese sales for the automobile giant. In July alone Ford sold 32,320 vehicles in China, 3 percent higher than the amount sold in July 2010.
Changan Ford Mazda, Ford's largest joint venture in China, managed sales of 185,542 Fords so far this year, 9 percent higher than the previous year. The Focus (pictured) made the majority of those sales, with 112,565 vehicles bought. The joint venture sold 18,803 Fords, out of a total of 23,716 vehicles, in July.
Ford's other Chinese dealer, Jiangxi-based Jiangling Motors, managed to sell 119,313 vehicles since the start of the year, with 14,009 vehicles sold in July.
