Gasgoo Munich- Construction began on Fuyao Group's Anhui trim and mold production base on Oct. 13 in Zipeng Town, Feixi County, Hefei, according to a WeChat post updated by Hefei Municipal People's Government . The facility will shore up the local auto-parts supply chain and lay a stronger foundation for the city's advanced manufacturing cluster.
The project calls for a 2 billion yuan investment. Spanning roughly 310 mu (51 acres) with a planned floor area of 260,000 square meters, the site will house an R&D center, modern production facilities, and specialized labs. Completion and startup are slated for the second half of 2027. Once at full capacity, the plant is expected to produce over 40 million sets of auto trims and molds annually, generating roughly 3 billion yuan in output value.
The new facility will bolster local supply-chain capacity and industrial synergy. Hefei, for its part, pledged to keep optimizing its business environment and providing full-lifecycle support to accelerate construction and bring the project online faster.
Fuyao has spent decades specializing in automotive glass and trim. Its products are supplied to major global automakers and partners, including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, General Motors, Toyota, Ford, BYD, and Huawei. The company currently operates production, sales, and R&D bases across 18 Chinese provinces and 12 countries worldwide.
In 2025, Hefei's total vehicle output hit 1.87 million units — with 1.37 million of those being new-energy vehicles, keeping the city atop the national ranking for a second straight year. The local auto cluster's revenue surpassed 600 billion yuan, crossing three 100-billion-yuan thresholds in three years. Hefei has emerged as a region with the industry's largest scale, the most brands, the fastest supply-chain rollouts, and the most complete supplier networks — cementing its reputation as China's "Capital of New-Energy Vehicles."
