GAC GOVY Flying Car AirCab Secures 3.3 Billion Yuan in Orders!

Edited by Taylor From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich - GAC Group's GAC GOVY has secured more than 2,000 intent orders for its first mass-produced multi-rotor eVTOL, the GOVY AirCab. The backlog represents a total value exceeding 3.3 billion yuan, marking a significant stride in commercialization.

Tailored for low-altitude tourism and short-haul travel, the AirCab has entered the comprehensive airworthiness certification phase with key safety indicators passing initial verification. The company expects to secure full certification—including the Type Certificate and Production Certificate—by the end of 2026, paving the way for mass production and delivery.

The GOVY AirCab features a six-axis, 12-rotor configuration, with an airframe constructed from over 90% aviation-grade carbon fiber composites. This cuts weight by more than 30% compared to traditional materials, balancing structural integrity with flight efficiency. The two-seater boasts top-mounted rotors and gull-wing doors, while the cabin integrates 5G connectivity, an intelligent assistant, and a fragrance system to merge comfort with technology.

Power comes from a pure electric system supporting a 25-minute fast charge, with a 15-minute charge sufficient to replenish the battery from 50% to 100%. It offers a range of 30 kilometers and a cruising speed of 120 km/h. On the safety front, the aircraft is equipped with an L4 autonomous driving system boasting over 500 TOPS of computing power and a detection range exceeding 300 meters. This is paired with a redundant flight control navigation system and cloud-based self-diagnostics to comprehensively mitigate flight risks.

The official guide price for the GOVY AirCab is capped at 1.68 million yuan—well below the 2 million to 3 million yuan range typical for industry peers. This cost advantage stems from GAC's established new energy vehicle supply chain and its ability to reuse existing technologies.

By the end of 2025, the GAC GOVY Guangzhou factory had already begun installing and commissioning production equipment, with trial production slated to start next month. The facility comprises general assembly, sub-assembly, composite manufacturing, and painting workshops. It will support the pilot production and Production Certificate (PC) certification work for the GOVY AirCab (GAC-A6).
