Audi Deepens Cooperation with SAIC to Jointly Develop Next-Generation BEV Models
On April 17, Audi and SAIC Motor officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The two parties will deepen collaboration in smart electrification and jointly develop Audi's next-generation battery electric vehicles (BEVs). They will also establish an Innovation and Technology Center in Shanghai to implement the "In China, For China" R&D strategy and further optimize Audi's electrification lineup in China.
Under the agreement, both sides will jointly develop future Audi models based on a next-generation intelligent digital platform, with an initial plan of four models covering the B-segment and C-segment markets, scheduled to launch successively in the coming years. Leveraging SAIC's strengths in local supply chains and intelligent technologies, combined with Audi's premium brand heritage, the partnership will enhance product adaptability and R&D efficiency.
Hesai Launches Picasso SPAD Chip, Taking LiDAR into 6D Full-Color Era
On April 17, at its 2026 Tech Open Day, Hesai Technology unveiled the world's first 6D full-color LiDAR ultra-sensitive chip – Picasso SPAD-SoC.
Meanwhile, Hesai's ETX series LiDAR will be upgraded with the new Picasso chip, supporting up to 4320-line full-color 4K ultra-high-definition perception, a maximum detection range of 600 meters, and the ability to identify small obstacles of 15cm×25cm within 150 meters. Mass production and delivery are expected in the second half of 2026.
