BYD expands Mexico lineup with Yuan Pro DM-i debut
On April 10 local time, BYD launched the Yuan Pro DM-i PHEV in Mexico, further expanding its product lineup in one of Latin America’s fastest-growing electrified vehicle markets. The move underscores the model’s strategic role in strengthening BYD’s regional presence and broadening its coverage across different customer needs and usage scenarios.
Built on BYD’s DM-i super hybrid platform, the Yuan Pro DM-i combines electric driving characteristics with extended range and low fuel consumption. The model offers a combined driving range of up to 1,045 kilometers under NEDC standards and is equipped with advanced intelligent technologies, adding more variety to Mexico’s relatively limited plug-in hybrid SUV segment.

Seyond, Boonray partner to scale autonomous mining solutions
Seyond and Boonray Technology recently entered a strategic partnership to accelerate the deployment of autonomous and low-carbon solutions in the mining sector. The cooperation combines Seyond’s LiDAR sensing capabilities with Boonray’s experience in large-scale autonomous mining operations, with the aim of supporting the development of next-generation smart mines.
Under the agreement, Boonray’s autonomous mining trucks will adopt Seyond’s Falcon LiDAR system, while both companies work to expand driverless solutions across a broader range of mining scenarios. By integrating LiDAR sensing with AI algorithms and cloud-based dispatch systems, the partnership seeks to improve safety, operational precision, and fleet efficiency, while creating scalable models for large-scale autonomous mining adoption.

DiDi to launch Robotaxi pilot operations in the UAE this year
DiDi Autonomous Driving announced plans to launch Robotaxi testing and pilot operations in the United Arab Emirates this year, marking the UAE as its first overseas market. The company said it is working with local partners to advance both technical development and deployment scenarios, as it gradually introduces intelligent mobility services to Middle Eastern users.
The overseas push builds on earlier progress made in Abu Dhabi, where DiDi Autonomous Driving joined the SAVI cluster and partnered with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office in November 2025. At the same time, the company continues to expand in China, where it has been conducting round-the-clock passenger-carrying tests in selected pilot zones and has delivered its next-generation Robotaxi model, the R2, which features 33 sensors, more than 2,000 TOPS of GPU computing power, and a 74% reduction in overall system costs compared with the previous generation.
