Chery Group sells over 2.8 million vehicles in 2025
Chery Group released its December and full-year 2025 sales results on January 1, 2026.In December 2025, Chery Group sold 244,928 vehicles. For the full year, its total vehicle sales reached 2,806,393 units, representing a 7.8% year-on-year increase.
Among them, Chery Automobile recorded 2,631,381 vehicle sales in 2025, up 8% year-on-year.
In 2025, Chery achieved notable breakthroughs across four key areas: overall sales, exports, new energy vehicles (NEVs), and quality performance.
Exports: December exports amounted to 144,430 vehicles, up 46.8% year-on-year, marking the first time monthly exports exceeded 140,000 units. Full-year exports totaled 1,344,020 vehicles, up 17.4% year-on-year. Cumulative exports reached 5.85 million units, setting new records for monthly, annual, and cumulative exports by a Chinese automaker. Chery has ranked No.1 in passenger vehicle exports among Chinese brands for 23 consecutive years.
New Energy Vehicles: NEV sales reached 903,847 units in 2025, up 54.9% year-on-year.
Great Wall Motor posts record-high vehicle sales of 1.3237 million units in 2025
Great Wall Motor announced its December and full-year 2025 sales results, reporting 124,020 vehicles sold in December.For the full year 2025, Great Wall Motor sold 1.3237 million vehicles, representing a 7.33% year-on-year increase and a new historical high.
New energy vehicle sales reached 403,700 units, up 25.44% year-on-year. Overseas sales totaled 506,100 units, up 11.68% year-on-year, both setting new records.
By brand:
Haval sold 758,554 vehicles, up 7.41% year-on-year;
WEY brand sales reached 101,954 vehicles, up 86.29% year-on-year;
TANK brand recorded 232,713 vehicle sales, maintaining steady growth;
GWM Pickup sales reached 181,660 units, up 2.57% year-on-year.
In addition, ORA's cumulative global sales reached 557,700 vehicles.
Leapmotor tops China's EV startups rankings in 2025
The year 2025 marked a pivotal reshaping of China's EV startups landscape. Amid intensifying competition, Leapmotor claimed the top position with nearly 600,000 vehicle deliveries, becoming the annual sales champion among Chinese new-energy vehicle start-ups.
In 2025, Leapmotor delivered 596,555 vehicles, representing a 103.1% year-on-year increase, and became the first EV startups in China to achieve annual sales of over 500,000 units.
This performance was driven by its“full-stack in-house R&D plus technology output”strategy. During the year, Leapmotor launched three key models—B10, B01, and Lafa5, all of which achieved strong market traction shortly after launch.
Meanwhile, Leapmotor accelerated its global expansion, with overseas operations covering 35 countries and regions, supported by more than 1,800 global sales and service outlets.
At the same time, XPeng recorded rapid growth, Xiaomi Auto emerged as the biggest market surprise, while Li Auto and GAC Aion faced growth pressure. NIO rebounded, and Voyah, Avatr, and Arcfox gained momentum, highlighting the increasingly intense competition among China's EV startups.
