Dongfeng Motor to mass-produce next-generation solid-state batteries in H2
Dongfeng Motor will begin mass-producing and installing its self-developed next-generation solid-state batteries in vehicles during the second half of this year, according to official statements.
This battery boasts an energy density of 350Wh/kg and is expected to enable new energy vehicles (NEVs) to exceed a driving range of 1,000km.
Besides, the battery delivers more than a 10% improvement in low-temperature performance, retaining over 74% of its charge at temperatures as low as -30°C.
The battery pack is also 30% lighter than conventional lithium-ion batteries. In addition, it can withstand temperatures of up to 170°C, significantly exceeding China's national testing standards.
OPmobility and ProLogium sign MoU to develop next generation solid-state battery modules for mobility
OPmobility and ProLogium, a leader in solid-state battery R&D and mass production, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to discuss a collaboration for the joint development and integration of solid-state battery cells into battery modules and packs for electric vehicles.
Under this MoU, ProLogium will provide solid-state battery cells to OPmobility for electrical performance testing. OPmobility will be responsible for the design, development and manufacturing of battery modules utilizing the solid-state battery cells provided by ProLogium.
The shared objective is to jointly develop a battery module solution that can be adopted by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) for future Electric Vehicle (EV) platforms.
New ONVO L60 launches with 14,000 yuan price cut
Onvo, a sub-brand of Nio Inc, officially launched the updated L60 SUV on June 11, with its starting price cut by 14,000 yuan from its predecessor, in a bid to boost sales in China's fiercely competitive EV market.
The updated Onvo L60 starts at 192,800 yuan ($28,440) with battery included, 6.8% lower than its predecessor's 206,900 yuan. Deliveries of the model will begin Friday.
The mid-size SUV brings a total of 106 upgrades, the biggest highlight being the first-time adoption of Nio's in-house developed 5-nanometer automotive-grade smart driving chip, the Shenji NX9031, along with the addition of versions equipped with a LiDAR sensor.
The new model is available in three variants — Pro, Max+, and Ultra+ — priced at 192,800 yuan, 202,800 yuan, and 222,800 yuan, respectively, with battery included.
Under the BaaS (battery as a service) battery rental scheme, the starting prices of the three variants drop to 135,800 yuan, 145,800 yuan, and 165,800 yuan, respectively.
