  • Chery Group recently released its April sales figures. The company sold 251,386 vehicles, a 25.2% year-on-year increase; exports surged 102.4% to 177,573 units, setting a new monthly record for Chinese automakers. New energy vehicle sales climbed 63.8% to 100,276 units.

  • BYD released April sales figures, totaling 321,123 units, as overseas sales topped 130,000 for the first time — a new record. Passenger vehicle sales reached 314,100 units. Domestically, output remained steady, driven by a multi-brand strategy spanning Dynasty, Ocean, Denza, Fang Cheng Bao, and Yangwang to cover various price points and user needs. The overseas market was a strong performer: April sales abroad hit 134,542 units, a 70.9% jump, breaking the monthly record and extending BYD's lead in the global new energy sector.

  • ZEEKR recently announced April sales figures. The company delivered 31,787 vehicles, a 132% surge that marked a brand record for monthly deliveries. By April 30, global cumulative deliveries had surpassed 750,000 units.

  • XPENG recently released its April delivery data. The company delivered 31,011 vehicles, marking its best performance since the start of 2026.

  • Li Auto officially released its delivery results for April 2026. Deliveries totaled 34,085 vehicles in April, pushing cumulative historical deliveries to 1,669,442 units by the end of the month, successfully passing the 1.66 million mark.

  • NIO officially released its delivery figures for April 2026. The company delivered 29,356 vehicles across its entire lineup, a 22.8% year-on-year increase. For the first four months of the year, cumulative deliveries reached 112,821 units, up 71.0%. To date, NIO's total deliveries have hit 1,110,413 units, formally entering the million-vehicle club.

  • Harmony lntelligent Mobility Alliance recently announced April delivery figures. Deliveries across its full lineup reached 32,759 units, an 18.9% year-on-year rise, while cumulative deliveries from January to April climbed 36%.

  • Leapmotor recently released its April delivery data. Deliveries across the full lineup surged 73.9% to 71,387 units, setting a new monthly record for the brand.

OEM Trend

  • On May 5, Dreame Technology founder and CEO Yu Hao caused controversy with a Weibo post critiquing domestic automotive design standards. Yu asserted: "When it comes to understanding design in China, it is really just Xiaomi and Huawei. Specifically, Lei Jun, Richard Yu, and myself — the three of us. Everyone else is trailing significantly in their understanding of car design!"

  • On May 5, Zhou Xing, executive deputy general manager of Lynk & Co Sales, announced that the first mass-produced Lynk & Co 10 has officially rolled off the assembly line. The new model began pre-orders at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show and will officially launch this month with a starting price of 209,900 yuan.

  • GAC recently announced that its self-operated charging network has surpassed 25,000 piles, spanning 213 cities across 31 provinces. The data is current as of April 2026.

  • Recently,Amap Auto's service arm, Amap Auto Service, unveiled a solution covering the entire vehicle lifecycle — from selection and purchasing to selling, usage, and trading in. The initiative aims to build a spatially intelligent, full-link AI marketing ecosystem.   • Recently,Magic Atom's MagicLab unveiled its self-developed world model, Magic-Mix, at the Global Embodied AI Innovation Conference. The Magic-Mix world model comprises two core engines. Magic-Mix WAM handles physical environment understanding, spatial reasoning, and decision-making, while Magic-Mix Creator serves as an offline data generation engine, producing vast quantities of training samples to continuously drive model training and capability iteration.

Industrial Economy

  • On May 5, chip concept stocks on the Hong Kong market extended their strong performance from the previous session. Chengcheng Technology surged more than 90%, while Montage Technology climbed over 6%. Solomon Systech and Sichip also saw gains, with the latter rising more than 3%.

  • Cui Dongshu, secretary-general of the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), recently wrote that China captured 68.3% of the global new energy passenger vehicle market in 2025. However, that share slipped to 61% in the first quarter of 2026. China's share of the global pure electric vehicle market remains relatively steady, hovering around 63% from 2023 through 2025. In 2026, its global share of pure EVs stands at 56%, as early-year factors temporarily dampened the performance of Chinese pure electric vehicles.
