Gasgoo Munich- On March 20, Geely's Galaxy sub-brand announced it has officially named its first AI-enabled all-terrain SUV the "Galaxy Zhanjian 700"  ("Zhanjian" translating to "battleship"), marking a notable step in the company's push into intelligent off-road vehicles.

The name emerged from a global crowdsourcing campaign involving more than 50,000 participants, blending the rugged connotations of "Zhanjian" with the numeric "700" to signal both capability and product positioning. The model is expected to make its public debut at the upcoming Auto China 2025.

Based on previously leaked images, the SUV adopts a design language described as "ripple aesthetics," translating traditional Chinese visual elements into a bold off-road form. The vehicle features a squared-off silhouette, a semi-closed front grille, and pronounced lower cladding, paired with boxy side mirrors. Together, these elements emphasize a muscular stance and strong visual identity.

The model is built on a body-on-frame architecture, underlining its off-road credentials. Practical design choices—including a matte-black roof rack and conventional mechanical door handles—highlight durability and ease of use. At the rear, an externally mounted spare tire and vertically arranged taillights reinforce its positioning as a purpose-built off-roader.

Inside, the SUV blends rugged functionality with subtle Chinese design cues. A traditional gear selector—retained in response to user preferences—anchors the cabin layout, signaling a balance between tactile control and perceived quality.

On the technology front, the Galaxy Battleship 700 is expected to feature Geely's GVMC dynamic control system, reportedly capable of supporting stability in high-speed maneuvering scenarios such as the moose test at 80 km/h. The SUV is also set to offer an AI-driven four-wheel-drive system, alongside advanced capabilities including crab-walking, tank turns, continued driving after a tire blowout, and automated obstacle avoidance.

Further underscoring its off-road ambitions, the vehicle is said to deliver a wading depth of up to 800 mm and support satellite communication—features that position it as a tech-forward contender in China's increasingly competitive rugged SUV segment.
