Inside Adient: Jointly Exploring Innovation Directions in Automotive Seating and Smart Cockpit Industry

Edited by Greg From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich- Against a backdrop of deep industry transformation toward intelligent, lightweight, and sustainable cabins, the Inside Adient: Prospective Technology Exhibition and Cross-Boundary Innovation Technology Forum will take place on August 28. Jointly hosted by Adient (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and Gasgoo, the event will be held at Adient (Chongqing) Automotive Components Co., Ltd.

As a global leader in automotive seating, Adient maintains a footprint across 33 countries and regions, having established over 200 manufacturing bases and 12 core R&D centers worldwide. The company continues its steady growth trajectory, with revenue reaching $3.9 billion in the second quarter of this year — a 7% increase from a year ago. A long-time supplier of seating solutions to mainstream global OEMs, Adient saw its StepJoy seat massage system enter mass production with the NIO ES9 in April. Meanwhile, a new production base in Wuhan has officially come online, further strengthening its domestic supply chain capabilities. For years, Adient has held a top position in the global seating segment, consistently leading industry technology iteration and high-quality development.

Leveraging both physical technology exhibits and specialized forums, the event aims to further open channels for collaborative innovation across the supply chain. It will assist enterprises in seizing opportunities presented by electrification and intelligence, while exploring long-term cooperation models that benefit all parties.

Focusing on future trends in the automotive seating industry, the event has established six technical exchange tracks covering the entire supply chain:

The first focuses on seat comfort technology, targeting improvements in ride comfort and related support solutions. The second explores lightweight and sustainable technologies, centering on weight reduction, eco-friendly materials, and integrated manufacturing processes. The third covers intelligent seating, including innovations in in-vehicle perception and interactive hardware. The fourth addresses structural innovation, spanning precision structural components and advanced molding techniques. The fifth spotlights precision intelligent manufacturing and testing, from smart production lines to simulation testing and precision machining equipment. Finally, the sixth examines embodied AI and cross-boundary integration, focusing on the convergence of electronic sensing, seat domain control, and drive motors.

Through multi-dimensional technical displays and exchanges, the event will showcase innovations across materials, structure, intelligence, and manufacturing processes. It offers upstream and downstream enterprises a platform for technical exchange and cooperation.

Additionally, the forum features three keynote themes accompanied by technical sharing from industry players: The first, "Embodied AI Reconstructing the Smart Seat Ecosystem," will explore solutions. These include robotic actuation transplantation and fabric tactile sensing. The second, "Upgrading Mobile Cabin Scenarios," introduces solutions for in-vehicle projection, constant-temperature armrest thermal management, and modular living connectivity seats. The third, "Health Biosensing Optimizing the Driving Experience," covers antibacterial cabin materials and built-in human health monitoring sensors.

Furthermore, the event features a full day of integrated offline exchanges, providing ample space for technical display, business matchmaking, and discussion between supply and demand. The day comprises four segments: supplier exhibitions, all-day technical zone exchanges, executive tours, and a special technical forum. Participating companies can conduct one-on-one technical promotions for Adient's R&D and management teams, showcasing innovative products and solutions. Meanwhile, the special forum will invite industry experts to discuss trends, technical pain points, and paths to industrial cooperation.

As a specialized information service platform for the global automotive industry, Gasgoo has long focused on connecting resources and serving the supply chain. Partnering with Adient for this offline event further builds an efficient bridge between innovative component enterprises and Adient's R&D, procurement, and engineering systems. It aims to drive in-depth exchanges on technical innovation, product application, and mass production. Through this open, collaborative mechanism, the "Inside Adient: Prospective Technology Exhibition and Cross-Boundary Innovation Technology Forum" will help quality suppliers connect with a global top-tier Tier 1 supplier. This accelerates the commercialization of innovative technologies and promotes collaborative development in the automotive seating chain.

Registration is now officially open. Gasgoo invites quality enterprises from across the automotive supply chain to participate; interested companies can scan the QR code below to complete registration.
