Gasgoo Munich- On February 6, 2026, JAC Group announced that it has formally entered into a strategic partnership with global braking specialist Brembo. The agreement sets the stage for joint development of next-generation braking technologies and software-driven solutions, aimed at keeping pace with the rapidly evolving demands of China's automotive market.

For JAC Group, partnering with Brembo represents a strategic move along its push toward smarter and more premium vehicles. Braking systems are no longer seen as purely safety components; they now play a critical role in driving feel, energy recuperation efficiency and even the quality of advanced driver-assistance and intelligent driving functions. Chairman Xiang Xingchu has previously pointed to the cooperation underpinning the MAEXTRO S800 as a starting point, with this new alliance signaling a broader, platform-level approach to innovation.
Brembo's objectives are equally explicit. Chief executive Daniele Schillaci has framed the partnership as a key milestone in the company's shift from a component supplier to a full-fledged solutions provider. The ambition is to combine Brembo's high-end braking hardware with proprietary control software and digital services, delivering integrated systems with significantly higher added value. China's fast-moving and fiercely competitive smart EV market offers an ideal proving ground for this tightly integrated hardware-software model.
At its core, the partnership is about redefining the role of braking systems on next-generation vehicle platforms. Brakes are expected to be deeply embedded within the vehicle's electronic and electrical architecture, working in concert with electric drivetrains and intelligent driving domains. The goal is to deliver more refined pedal response, improved energy management and greater system redundancy, turning a technical challenge into a new source of product differentiation.
