Gasgoo.com (Shanghai May 24) - Several Japanese manufacturers have announced their intent to begin auto part production in China by October of this year, the China Trade Remedy Information site announced today.

Following the recent natural disasters in Japan, Sino-Japanese joint ventures have had their auto part supply chains crippled. Many JVs have been trying to rectify the problem by outsourcing their parts from other countries.

The Jiangsu-based Japan Project-Industry Council (JAPIC), which was formed between the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and Japan External Trade Organization, will be completed this October to remedy the problem. The JAPIC hopes to secure the support of 400 Japanese auto part suppliers within five years. The JAPIC will consolidate parts from suppliers, which would be uniformly managed and sold.
