Gasgoo Munich- Li Auto announced on August 14 that cumulative deliveries of the Li L6 had exceeded 400,000 units, less than 28 months after the range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) made its debut in April 2024.
The company describes the L6 as the fastest REEV priced above 200,000 yuan to reach that threshold and China's best-selling mid-to-large SUV on a cumulative basis. Both rankings are based on Li Auto's own market assessment. The milestone nevertheless underlines the importance of the Li L6, which is the most affordable model in the automaker's L-series portfolio.

Li Auto launched the new-generation L6 in July, consolidating the lineup into a single trim priced at 249,800 yuan, unchanged from the previous model's entry price.
Orders placed by August 31 are eligible for a package of introductory benefits that Li Auto values at up to 28,000 yuan. The offer includes full-size zero-gravity front seats with 18-point massage functions, a choice of four limited-edition exterior colors and a blacked-out appearance package.
The redesigned five-seat SUV measures 4,935 mm long, 1,960 mm wide and 1,735 mm tall, with a 2,920-mm wheelbase. Its overall length has increased by 10 mm, while its positioning in the mid-to-large SUV segment remains unchanged.
Twenty-inch wheels are standard, with 21-inch alternatives available as an option.
The new Li L6 adopts the latest interpretation of Li Auto's family styling while retaining the brand's signature Star Ring daytime-running light. A revised front fascia separates the active air intake and black trim from the split headlights, giving the SUV a more sharply defined appearance.
At the rear, the license-plate recess has been moved to the tailgate. The full-width light bar has also been reshaped, with rounded outer edges adding greater visual depth.
The cabin follows the design direction introduced on the all-new Li L9. A redesigned steering wheel features simplified controls and gold-colored accents, while the small display previously mounted above the wheel has been removed.
In its place, the new Li L6 gains a 29-inch 6K panoramic display spanning the front of the cabin. A 19-speaker Platinum audio system is also included.
The most substantial upgrade is the larger traction battery. Capacity rises from 36.8 kWh to 51 kWh, extending the L6's CLTC-rated battery-power-only range from 212 km to 300 km, an increase of about 42%.
Peak charging power reaches 260 kW, with Li Auto claiming that the battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in 12 minutes under suitable conditions. The longer electric range should allow more owners to complete routine urban journeys without using the gasoline range extender, although real-world range will vary from the CLTC rating.
The new-gen L6 comes standard with Li Auto's internally developed M100 processor for assisted driving. Manufactured using a five-nanometer automotive-grade process, the chip delivers a claimed 1,280 TOPS of computing power and an operating efficiency of more than 82%.
The cockpit processor has meanwhile been upgraded from Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8295 to the newer 8797 platform. Li Auto claims the change delivers a 1.8-fold increase in CPU performance, supporting the vehicle's 29-inch 6K display and expanded in-car software functions.
