Gasgoo Munich- On Feb. 9, a social media user asked Zhao Changjiang, executive director and vice president of LUXEED, whether the LUXEED S7 would receive a refresh. Zhao gave a definitive answer: "Yes, but not this year."

Recently, online rumors suggested that the LUXEED S7 under Harmony lntelligent Mobility Alliance would be discontinued and replaced by the SAIC Shangjie Z7, while the LUXEED R7 would undergo upgrades and a price hike to become a distinct model.
Zhao's public response clarifies the LUXEED S7's roadmap, confirming that while a refresh is planned, it won't arrive in 2026. It also indirectly addresses recent speculation surrounding the model.
In fact, during an industry interview in January 2026, Zhao had already hinted at the brand's upgrade plans for the year. At the time, he stated that both the LUXEED R7 and S7 would undergo major refreshes, featuring the Huawei ADS 4.0 system and comprehensively upgraded intelligent driving hardware.
For context, the new LUXEED S7 officially hit the market on Aug. 25, 2025, with a starting price of 229,800 yuan. Positioned as a pure electric mid-to-large sedan, it features a OneBox design language, combining muscular wheel arches with premium surfacing. The new model measures 4,971mm long, 1,963mm wide, and 1,474mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,950mm.
On the intelligent driving front, the vehicle is equipped with the Huawei ADS 4.0 driver-assistance system. Hardware specifications include a 192-line LiDAR, three 4D millimeter-wave radars, and a rear-facing high-precision solid-state LiDAR.
Inside, the car adopts a wraparound yacht-style cabin, with Nappa-textured soft-touch materials and a microsuede headliner creating a premium feel. The high-performance driver's seat offers 16-way adjustment, while the "Queen-level" zero-gravity passenger seat supports 18-way adjustment and 10-point massage. Regarding range, the new LUXEED S7 is equipped with a massive 100 kWh battery, delivering a CLTC combined range of 855 km and adding 215 km of range with just a 5-minute charge.
