MHERO opens flagship Doha showroom, launches MHERO II to enter Gulf luxury off-road market

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In recent days, Dongfeng Motor's premium off-road brand MHERO officially opened its flagship showroom on Salwa Road in Doha, Qatar, while unveiling its new luxury electrified off-road model, the MHERO II (also known as the MHERO M817), according to a post launched on Jan. 6 via the WeChat account of China Dongfeng Motor Industry Import & Export Co., Ltd.

Held under the theme "Home of Heroes," the event marked MHERO's formal entry into the Gulf's core automotive market and signaled the brand's ambition to carve out a place in the Middle East's high-end off-road segment.

At the technical presentation, executives from the Middle East marketing arm of the company's overseas passenger vehicle division outlined the MHERO II's key strengths, positioning it as a performance-led yet technology-driven luxury off-road vehicle.

The MHERO II features an plug-in hybrid system that delivers a combined output of up to 505 kW and peak torque of 848 Nm. With a claimed total driving range of around 1,300 km and fuel consumption as low as 7.24 liters per 100 kilometers, the model is designed to balance extreme performance with long-distance efficiency.

Beneath the body, the vehicle adopts an intelligent off-road chassis paired with an air suspension system and extensive use of aluminum. A 20-degree bi-directional rear-wheel steering system reduces the turning radius to just 5.2 meters, while a ground clearance of 325 mm enhances its ability to handle demanding terrain with agility.

For intelligent off-road driving, the MHERO II offers nine all-terrain modes, supported by electronically controlled differential locks with near-instant response and a 6D IMU-based body attitude sensing system. Together, these technologies aim to lower the learning curve and make extreme off-road driving more accessible to less experienced users.

Safety and durability are reinforced through an armored cage-style body structure combined with high-strength steel. The vehicle also supports advanced maneuvering functions and a towing capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes, underscoring its positioning as a mobile fortress built for both adventure and utility.

Tailored for the Gulf's hot climate, the MHERO II comes equipped with an intelligent four-zone climate control system and air purification technology. Inside, the cabin features Nappa leather upholstery, multi-mode massage seats and an 18-speaker audio system. A fully integrated digital cockpit, augmented-reality head-up display and a 6 kW vehicle-to-load power output further enhance comfort and practicality for outdoor and leisure use.

Hamza Al Qatami, general manager of Al Waha for Cars, said the MHERO brand's diversified lineup and emphasis on luxury performance align closely with the preferences of consumers in the Qatari market.

According to MHERO, the dual launch of its flagship showroom and the MHERO II represents more than a market debut. It reinforces the brand's positioning in the premium electric off-road space while raising its profile in Qatar and across the Middle East. Through close cooperation with local partner Al Waha for Cars, MHERO is also strengthening the foundation of its broader global expansion strategy.
