Shenzhen, a frontier for policy innovation in intelligent connected vehicles, recently revised its management rules for road testing and demonstration applications. The city has established a tiered road management system and is aggressively supporting innovative scenarios like fully driverless testing. This approval marks the first deployment of Momenta's full-scenario platform technology in a core city of the Greater Bay Area, validating the data loop advantage of its "two-track" strategy that combines mass-produced vehicles with unmanned fleets.
With this addition, Momenta's global testing footprint now spans major Chinese cities—including Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuxi, and Shenzhen—as well as key international regions like Munich, Germany, and Abu Dhabi in the UAE. The company has significantly accelerated its global rollout this year, steadily advancing toward its goal of launching high-level autonomous driving in multiple new cities and regions by year-end.
On the technology front, the R7 world model—launched in April—is powering the scaling of its unmanned vehicle operations. Leveraging data from over 12 billion kilometers of mass-produced driving, the R7 model uses reinforcement learning to sharpen decision-making in complex interactions, narrow passages, and rare edge cases, achieving safety performance that surpasses human drivers.
In terms of global ecosystem partnerships, Momenta has forged deep strategic alliances with leading mobility platforms and automakers, including SAIC Mobility, Uber, Grab, and Mercedes-Benz. As road testing begins in Shenzhen, Momenta is translating China's physical AI capabilities into scalable global mobility services, accelerating toward its vision of providing a "dedicated driver" for every family.
