Gasgoo Munich- Mercedes-AMG has officially pulled the wraps off its new AMG GT high-performance SUV. Serving as the second model built on the AMG.EA architecture, it marks the brand's first in-house developed large performance SUV.

The new AMG GT high-performance SUV is powered by three axial-flux electric motors arranged in a front-one, rear-two configuration. These units are roughly one-third the weight and volume of conventional motors. The system churns out a peak 1,169 horsepower and 2,000 newton-meters of torque, propelling the SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds. It clears 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds and tops out at 270 km/h.
On the battery front, buyers get a choice of 106 kWh or 128 kWh units. These use slim, cylindrical cells with quaternary chemistry, boasting an energy density exceeding 298 Wh/kg. Under the WLTP cycle, maximum range reaches 700 kilometers. Thanks to an 800-volt high-voltage architecture, peak charging power hits 710 kilowatts, enough to add 450 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes.
For chassis dynamics, the SUV features the newly developed AMG Active Ride Control+ suspension, offering active pitch and roll stabilization. It rides on the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system with a disconnect function and torque vectoring, complemented by a rear-axle steering system capable of up to 6 degrees of angle in either direction, as well as AMGhigh-performance ceramic composite brake system. Aerodynamics are managed by an active roof spoiler and an active air management system.
Inside, the cockpit integrates a 14-inch central touchscreen tilted toward the driver with a 10.2-inch instrument cluster. The vehicle includes the AMG racing dynamics master system, which tunes response speed, cornering attitude, and traction. In "AMG FORCE Sport Boost (S+)" mode, the SUV simulates the exhaust note and gear-shifting feel of a classic V8 engine. For the Chinese market, the model incorporates exclusive tech like the Doubao AI large model and "door-to-door" assisted driving capabilities.
Mercedes-AMG noted that the figures released here represent global specifications. Exact configurations and parameters for the Chinese market will be confirmed upon the model's local launch.
