Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 23) - In a report appearing on Gasgoo.com (Chinese) today, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine announced that Chrysler China will begin recalling over 60,000 imported models in the country in three individual recalls.
The first recall will cover 2010 to 2012 model year Jeep Compass (pictured above) and Patriot SUVs manufactured between mid-October 2009 and late July 2012. A total of 49,754 vehicles in China are affected by this recall, which is being conducted due to a flaw in the software of the airbag control units, which may prevent the side airbags and seat belt fasteners from working properly.
In the next recall, 947 imported 2013 model yeah Chrysler 300Cs are being recalled due to an auto part defect. The vehicles carry production dates ranging between early August 2012 and mid-November 2012. The finish on their dashboards may have been applied incorrectly, preventing vital information from being visible to the driver, who may continue to operate the vehicle when it is need of repair.
The final recall will target 2012 to 2013 model year imported Wranglers (pictured below) manufactured between mid-August 2011 and late February 2013. A total of 10,019 Wranglers will be recalled due to a flaw in which the power steering hose may come in contact with the transmission fluid hose. In extreme circumstances the fluid may leak, damaging the transmission, or the engine may catch on fire.
