Gasgoo.com (Shanghai April 7) - The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine has announced that Subaru will begin recalling 9,641 imported Subaru Legacy sedans and Outback SUVs, Xinhua reported today. The recall, which will begin on June 3, will target 9,641 vehicles in the country, with manufacturing dates ranging from late January 2004 to late May 2009.

The vehicles in question are being recalled due to concerns that liquid will seep in to their brake fluids while being driven in snowy environments. That may in turn cause the brake lines to rust and lead to brake fluid leaks, posing a valid safety risk.

Subaru China will conduct free inspection and maintenance of all affected vehicles. Owners of affected vehicles can contact the manufacturer to set up appointment to have repair work carried out.
