Officials say the Jining High-Tech Zone, after more than 30 years of development, has cultivated leading industries in high-end equipment manufacturing, healthcare, next-generation information technology and new materials, making it one of China's six construction machinery industry bases. The zone has formed an integrated automotive and parts cluster encompassing vehicles, components, R&D, testing, auto trade and logistics, supported by a healthy ecosystem and strong spillover capacity.
According to the WeChat account "Jining High-Tech," the first phase of the auto parts R&D and manufacturing base will integrate frontier technologies, intelligent production and industrial collaboration. It will primarily make components such as vehicle cabins and interiors, aiming to build a modern auto parts manufacturing base. The project is expected to track the lightweighting and smart-interior trend, align precisely with regional vehicle manufacturing demand, and plug key gaps in the supply chain.
The project's rollout is expected to further lift employment, accelerate technology upgrades, and inject fresh momentum into optimizing the industrial structure and driving high-quality growth in Jining High-Tech Zone and the broader region.
Looking ahead, as the project progresses, Jining High-Tech Zone's clustering advantage in autos and components should become more pronounced — helping lay a stronger foundation for a modern industrial system and for building a regional hub for advanced manufacturing. That also aligns with Shandong's strategy to upgrade manufacturing and cultivate distinctive industry clusters, underscoring the strong momentum in the local economy.
