Gasgoo Munich- Pony.ai has opened its autonomous ride-hailing service in Singapore to the general public after integrating the offering into Zig, the ride-booking platform operated by transport provider ComfortDelGro. The move marks the transition of the companies' autonomous mobility program in the Punggol district from a limited invitation-only trial to a publicly accessible service, representing another step forward in Pony.ai's strategy of expanding simultaneously in China and overseas markets.

Zig is one of Singapore's established ride-booking platforms, serving a wide range of transportation needs across the city-state, from daily commuting to longer inter-district journeys. By bringing autonomous vehicles directly onto the platform, Pony.ai and ComfortDelGro aim to make self-driving transportation a more familiar part of everyday travel while gathering valuable operational experience to support future commercial deployment.
Residents can book autonomous rides through a dedicated self-driving section within the Zig app. Once a reservation is confirmed, passengers will travel in vehicles equipped with Pony.ai's autonomous driving technology. The service connects key destinations in Punggol, including Punggol Coast Mall, Punggol Coast MRT station, One Punggol, Oasis Terrace and Punggol Plaza. The route network is designed to complement existing public transportation by providing convenient links to MRT stations and bus interchanges, while offering residents new options for reaching commercial and community facilities.
The public rollout follows several months of testing and service refinement. In April, the two companies launched a pilot program for invited riders within the Punggol community, using passenger feedback to improve the user experience and operational processes ahead of the broader launch.
The Singapore expansion comes as Pony.ai accelerates its domestic and international growth initiatives. In China, the company has continued strengthening operations in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen while extending its footprint to Hangzhou and Changsha.
Internationally, Pony.ai has been advancing across multiple regions. In April, it began fully driverless testing in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. During the same month, the company partnered with Verne and Uber to launch what it described as Europe's first commercial Robotaxi service in Croatia. In May, Pony.ai joined forces with Bolt and Stellantis to begin testing its seventh-generation Robotaxi platform in Luxembourg.
Driven by rising user demand, expanding service coverage and improving operational efficiency, Pony.ai is scaling up its Robotaxi fleet. The company has set a target of deploying more than 3,500 Robotaxis by the end of the year and establishing operations in over 20 cities worldwide.
